Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said he was disappointed not to win, but what made him happy was the overall style of play of his team.

The Bavarians drew 1-1 at home to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Saturday night. Bayern now have 13 points from 5 matches and remain top of the table.

“As Bayern coaches, we always want to win at home. The game went the way we wanted it to,” Kompany the Belgian coach said.

“The important thing is that we keep pressing and we believe we can get a lot of wins with this style of play. The pressing looks good, as does the way we hit back after going behind, fighting for every moment and creating chances.

“Leverkusen defended very well. It was a high level game. There are still areas where we can improve. We had some good chances. It’s a shame we didn’t win, but we’ll keep going. There are still a lot of games to play.”

Despite creating several chances, the Bavarians couldn’t convert them into goals. “You don’t normally get that many chances in a game like this. We had them, so it’s a shame we didn’t win,” he added. The coach recognised the quality of the match, stating, “It was a top match, and it looked like a top match.”

Bayern’s next game is a trip to Aston Villa in the UFABET second leg of the Champions League on Wednesday night, with the Bavarians thrashing Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in the first leg.
